Reeth and District Gazette

Reeth and District Gazette

For those who are staying in the cottage I thought it would be worthwhile bringing to your attention the Reeth and District Gazette which offers a lot of information on events and services which are local to the area, as the name suggests!

Published monthly there is a hard copy which is available for free at most shops and pubs in the local area around Reeth and Arkengarthdale. I will try and remember to get a copy for the Swale View but as I am not always able to be around I thought a link (above) to the online version would be of use.

Covering local news in Swaledale and Arkengarthdale as a visitor to the area some of the information may not be super useful but as when visiting my Dads house in Somerset picking up their local equivalent (not as fancy as the gazette as it was usually two sheets of A4 stapled together) it gave me a flavour for what had taken place and what was up and coming and may be worth visiting or taking part in.

So for you the visitor to the area I suggest scrolling to the last few pages for the Diary Dates which I have shown below for the coming months. But of course new events will be added so check the Gazette edition closest to when you are staying for up to date information.

Also covered off are excursions, local services, accomodation, shops, pubs, police report (always interesting), concerts, children’s events, brass band shows and dates, cave and mountain rescue reports, football reports and the very useful church service timetables.

So lots for everyone and always a good read to see what is going on in and around Low Row. I hope you find it as useful and entertaining as I do!
