Things to do in March in Swaledale

The most important day of the year!

Mothers Day - on the 22nd of March it will be Mothers Day so the Two Dales Bakery is once again running their Mothers Day afternoon tea for only £15. Last year was a big success so book up early and ensure your place - you can even take your Mother along, or maybe encourage the kids to take you!

Folk Music in Reeth - Sadly this is now postponed

This looks good as Nancy Kerr & James Fagan arrive on Friday 20th March at the Reeth Memorial Hall. The doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start, tickets in advance are £14 or £16 on the night. Tickets available to be bought here.

Fancy some Soul Music? Then on Friday 27th March head up, and it is up, to the Tan Hill Inn for some great tunes from Smoove & Turrell as they play an intimate gig high on the moor. Kicks off at 9pm. Tickets are £24 and it is standing event only, you have been warned! Free overnight stay of you are attending with a camper van. Rooms at Tan Hill are almost booked out so get in there now and book if you can. Sounds ideal!

The Swaledale Mountain Rescue Team do amazing work each year. So if you ever wanted to get a hands on instruction from them then there is a 16 hours (over two days on the 11 and 12th of March) REC Outdoor First Aid Course being run from their base in Catterick Garrison. Should be very interesting and of course useful for you if you are spending a lot of time running sporting events outdoors. Cost is £100 and can be booked here. Ok, so not really touristy event but let’s support them where we can!
