Road World Championships 2019 - Yorkshire

On Sunday the 29th September we are lucky enough to have the 2019 World Championship Cycle Elite Mens Road Race going past Swale View as they drop down from Buttertubs Pass, through Gunnerside and into Low Row about 11.30 am to 11.40am. Timings vary so allow a few minutes either side!

Where to watch locally to Swale View? Obvious place is at the Punchbowl Inn as this offers a decent view of the main drag through Low Row and a chance for a pint. Right by the exit from Swale View will be good as they are climbing up into Low Row so will be going marginally slower!

The 280km (!!) route starts in Leeds and heads around through Skipton, Kettlewell. Buttertubs, Low Row, Grinton (although given the bridge is out this may well be revised), Masham and onto seven circuits around Harrogate. Last three columns on right show expected times depending on pace.

Of course there are lots of other races to view as well including the 150km Elite Womens race which sadly does not go as far as Swale View but perhaps a good chance to see it elsewhere en route. It is on Saturday the 28th September and runs from Bradford via Pateley Bridge, Masham and into Harrogate.

And don’t forget lots of other races as well, they can all be found here and run from 21st to 29th September.

At Swale View we have secure storage for your bikes and of course you are literally on the route so you can cycle all, or part, of the course and see how you do compared to the main event!

Book here if you would like to stay over that race weekend. Its bound to be a blast!
